"The Parable of the Time of
Transition"
Transcribed
from the truly awful to-translate handwritten documents provided by
'Dawn the Last Slayer' in
her fall of 2010
and later from the faster time rate
Glory's
World. Corresponds to about 2002-2003
in our "Buffy/Dawn is TV"
dimension and maybe sometime
in 2003-2004
in the "Buffy/Dawn is Real"
Sunnydale.
-Editor" Glory (Gloriana),
etc.
- Dawn's original title was
"Transition Time""
This Work seems
to be a new companion to DTLS's pre-2001 Buffy/Roswell Season
prescient Work "Parable
of the Magic Scrolls". It may or may
not be predictive of the
Buffy/Dawn Season 7 and
Dawn Season 8.
Wait and see is the best advice.
One interesting curiosity
is that in 'Our Story'
all the Clare/Glory lookalikes are already
aware of the existence
of Clare, Dawn and the Pantheon. The implications are
significant since that is
subtly factored into this Work.
It was obviously written
after the tumultuous events described in "Our
Story" and the intervening
Ava-Tess centric works.
These are generally complete as manuscripts in-hand, except
as noted in the Works
listing. None are 100% on-line at this
time.
Also note that Dawn is now
referring to "Buffy/Dawn",
whereas she has always previously
simply used "Buffy".

A drape over one of the side hallways slipped
away. Revealing a harpist and
a female singer. Both dressed in formal, expensive
dresses.
Both began.
The singer had an ethereal voice that would soon
be out on her first CD. Clare's
incentive to her to sing for this strange group
that lived through a doorway
from an apartment in a place she had no idea
the location of.
Clare had reminded both that future lucrative
events were probable, provided they
kept their silence. Then she'd added insurance,
a spell that allowed them to
speak, or communicate otherwise, of it only between
themselves.
Draining her first glass of wine, Clare dug into
the huge meal her girls had
put together specially for her on a serving platter.
They'd surmised correctly
that her time-stopping effort had taken some
magic reservoir down a bit.
In an animated discussion, the god-girls, being
gods, contended that they
should serve their Mom the entire quarter side
of cooked beef that was in
the back one of the spelled storage rooms off
the vast kitchen.
"She needs it, " they insisted.
"She'll tan your little butts if you do," Kat
observed sagely. "She may be able
to eat it, but she won't want to look like a
pig in front of everyone."
So they agreed to make up a big platter for their
Mom and discretely keep
refilling it as they served others and themselves.
Michelle and Clare, seated between Dawn and Clare,
were telling stories
to one another and being rather more familiar
than hey had been in the past.
It was the shared experience of their world being
turned upside down.
Michelle had already begun to suspect that Clare
had been here before.
"Yeah," she admitted. Last Spring. Just for awhile.
I was in L.A. and they sent
the "Triumphant"
to pick me and some of the LA. Circle up."

| "Yeah," she admitted. Last Spring.
Just for awhile. I was in L.A. and they sent the "Triumphant" to pick me and some of the LA. Circle up." |
She had to explain that the L.A. Circle was an
informal collection of those
not living in the Palace, Sunnydale, Ohio or
NYC. "Faith, Emilie, the mystery
Clare that shouldn't be, her sister Callie and
me. Sometimes one of the Avas
is in town and visits. And me, of course."
[Ed - The L.A. Circle is first mentioned in "Our Story".]
"Emilie's the most powerful. looks like the little blondes - Avas and Tesses."
"Emilie also bestowed Faith, 'cause Clare'd only
give her immortality for some reason.
About her being bad so long. Faith was with us
in the "Triumphant."
"But all three were in the little ship "Gazebo"
with Dawn and a couple of others
following the "Triumphant".
They jumped to supergirl when they started being
taught to use the control depressions."
Clare paused, ate a bite and swallowed.
"Apparently, Clare has placed all of us Clare,
Callie & Tess lookalikes under
some sort of trigger bestowal that's in stasis
until we face a real emergency,"
she continued.
"Then they jump to supergirl and all that entails
- invulnerability, superspeed,
superstrength and varying flavors of mindwarp,
mindprobe and magic use."
Michelle absorbed this.
Nodding her head. It sort of made sense
Once one accepted that it was real.
She looked at Clare with a new light. A girl who
could be a supergirl at
any time. Simply jump off a building or stand
in front of a bus...
"What was the emergency on this little ship?" she asked.
Clare responded after a moment.

"Not sure. I've heard that Clare never anticipated
that we'd ever come in contact
with active Anunnaki
alien objects voluntarily and that was what triggered it,"
Clare played her fingers on the table as if typing
to demonstrate control
depressions use.
Michelle wondered aloud, "Are you one yet...a
supergirl, I mean?"
"Nope," Clare selected another morsel and forked
it to her mouth.
"Can't have babies if it happens. So I've heard.
But we're all supposed
to have almost-immortality
already, whatever that means."
"Oh, " Michelle shut her mouth.
[Ed- This Clare doesn't yet know about Ava's way of getting pregnant, even as a god.]
Clare was halfways listening to this, as was Dawn.
Dawn turned to Michelle and began telling her what changes she was contemplating.
Both Clares listened intently. Dawn wanted to
drift toward some of her more
realistic depictions from her Works. "It'll be
hard, but you've gotten over the
hurdle of whether you can be a Slayer of some
sort."
"And Glory's snuck back on the show, however stealthily..."
Dawn was already in a
transition writing mood. It was a challenge.
"I'll have to roll some heads, or create
some meaningless promotions, to allow my storylines
to be adapted."
"Clare, " she added...
Both looked at her. "Uh, Clare, you..." she poked
at Clare across Michelle's back.
"I have special longer range ideas beyond just
Glory for you..."
By any measure the dinner was successful.
Michelle now understood that Dawn was far more
mature than she herself was.
She talked like someone who made decisions and
told people what to do and
expected them to do it.
Now.
There was a farewell after some major magical
cleanup. Standing in the
hall before she sent the set and the people back,
Clare reminded all that they were
under the same speaking, etc., spell as the singer
and harpist.
"All will profit handsomely if we carry this off,"'
Dawn added. "If not, we'll ask Michelle
and Clare to join us here, as members of the
Pantheon. Top billing always, here."
Clare gestured.
They were gone. She probe-portaled to verify they'd arrived safely.
"And it all worked out as Dawn planned," Dawn ended the story.
Clare looked over at Dawn and the girls. They were asleep in her arms.
"That was pretty long, Dawnie," Clare was a little
sleepy herself.
Tess was snoring slightly as she was jostled
by Clare's movements.
Judging from the lake, which was starting to
show the shadow of the palace,
hours had passed.
Almost real time. That was the way Dawn's cobwebby spell worked.
But Clare was starving.
Eating food in the story didn't fill her tummy
at all.
Dawn eased the girls over on the sofa and got
up. Everyone else was asleep
also. Except her and Clare. "Guess I could market
the spell as a soporific.
Maybe sell little candies with the spell on them,
" she laughed.
She and Clare walked out the door, down the hall
and stairs to the kitchen
near the west side patio and park area.
A week or so later on a somewhat revamped set,
Michelle stared at
Clare in her Glory getup. The camera
view showed that it was a
set and not real.
"I know now why you're here, Glory," Dawn said
emphatically.

Glory brightened. "Finally the girl gets it,"
she clapped her hands together
in mock applause. "'Bout time, sweetie. What
d'ya think all this was about
so long? Me having fun in this dreary place you
call home?"
Dawn held out her arms. "Do it. Get rid of all
this fake crap.
Make it real. I'm a big girl now. Ready for big
girl things."
"Okay, Sweetie, "Glory gestured. "Remember, you asked for it..."
The set faded from view and Glory stood still
for a second. Her hair
was now blonde. She had on a white scarf with
black print.
She whipped the scarf off and pointed up.
Dawn looked up at the ceiling with the endless
images of Glory
down the hall. The camera view followed her gaze.
"That's the real Glory. My name is Clare. I'm
a god, too.
Surprise, surprise!" Clare laughed agreeably.
"Welcome to
Buffy's heaven."
"This is Glory's palace on Glory's World..."
"And I'm the Queen of the Pantheon. Welcome back.
Are you getting
your memory back? Summer 2000, Magic Shoppe?
The hotel?
Then the memory spell on you as you left
"your" room to become
Buffy's sister?"
"All that finally coming back, Sweetie Cakes?"
Clare waved her scarf
randomly as she talked. She was always doing
something with her
hands.
Dawn sat heavily on the reddish triangular-tiled
marble floor.
"Lots to remember," she sighed. "So many lies."
"Necessary," Clare smiled.
"So many years," Dawn looked up at Clare, noting
how casually she
was dressed for a Queen.
"And so many rewrites," Clare declared.
"Welcome home, Dawnie." She held out her arms.
Dawn flowed into her
sort of sister's arms. Sobbing. It was
over.
Clare yelled over Dawn's shoulder. "Cut!". For
she was the director/producer
of this transitional episode, entitled, of course,
"Transition". "Ready for the
next set?" Clare released Michelle.
"Yep," Michelle grinned.
"Think it'll work?" Michelle asked as they walked out of the set.
"If not," Clare reminded her, "We've got the open
invitation to Glory's Palace.
"Guaranteed for life, " she laughed.

As did Michelle.
Michelle's boots crunched in the snow. The light of the other nearest
star in the Antar
system shed about the same light as the full moon on earth.
She looked at their nighttime shadows.
[Ed- This is obviously a snippet from the,
as
yet not received, Part 5 of "Bye
Bye Roswell Really"
entitled "Tess, the Christmas Elf". Since
Tess earlier invited all to spend Christmas on Antar,
introducing a form of Yuletide to that world.]
Its light on the newly fallen snow was enough to see that some of the
girls were out
in the evening building snowmen---and snow-women, she laughed. Beyond
them she
could see the Christmas lights and decorations on all sides of the
huge villa of Tesses.
Turning in a circle while Dawn watched her amusedly, she could see the
dark bulk
of the "Glory Triumphant" before the forest
started.
It barely fit in the snowy meadow.
High overhead she could see the two brilliant lights that were the "Clare
Declared"
and the monstrous "Glory Always". Bursting
with eagerness, she jumped up and
down on the many inches of snow.
"I can't believe it! I'm on another planet. I flew here in a starship
and I just piloted the
"Triumphant" to rendezvous with the other
two starships. Way up there!" she raised
both arms to the sky and turned in circles.
Tess leaned out an opened window and yelled at them. She was easy to
spot because she
wore a long elf cap and a green sweater. "Supper everyone!" she
yelled.
"Or I'll throw it out!"
Behind her, in the lit third floor room she could see 'her' Clare laughing
at something
one of the other Clares, probably the god Clare, since they were so
tight these days.
She was wearing a red Santa Claus cap with Clare-2
on it.
When the other Clare turned around, she saw it was the god. Her cap said "Clare-1".
It was one of Tess' little jokes, but it was pretty practical.
Until she discovered that the 3 Clares that were able to be here were
swapping the caps.
"Happy?" Dawn slid her arm into Michelle's and they marched toward the
back entrance,
past the magically not frozen pond.
"Very," Michelle laughed.
"You can be a part of this any time. As much time as you want, or as
little," Dawn kicked at
a clump of snow beside a bush.
"I know," Michelle replied and they entered the villa and headed for
the food-laden table
in the main dining room. Out the front window she could see that some
of the Christmas lights,
modified for the local power system, were already turned on in the
mountain village below,
beside the darkened castle that had once housed the evil rulers, per
Tess and Dawn.
Michelle had met the villagers twice. They were mystified by Tess' celebration,
but eager
to give gifts of the local trades and food crops. Some foods were delicious.
They were generally human in appearance, as were most of the Anunnaki-like
colonists
here.

They were a strange mixture of magic technology and handiwork. Tess
had gone among
them with both Avas and they had healed the ones that had more persistent
problems
their peculiar physical & psychic medical approach couldn't handle...
..."Wake up, Michelle!" Dawn called out.
"Just thinking," Michelle laughed and looked around the crowded table.
They were all her
friends and she could be one of them anytime.
At that moment she made her decision.
And so it was.
And so it shall be.
