"The Parable of the Time of Transition"

Transcribed from the truly awful to-translate handwritten documents provided by
'Dawn the Last Slayer' in her fall of 2010 and later from the  faster time rate
Glory's World.  Corresponds to about 2002-2003 in our "Buffy/Dawn is TV"
dimension and maybe sometime in 2003-2004 in the "Buffy/Dawn is Real"
  Sunnydale.

  -Editor" Glory (Gloriana), etc.
 - Dawn's original title was  "Transition Time""

This  Work  seems to be a new companion to DTLS's  pre-2001 Buffy/Roswell Season
prescient Work  "Parable of the Magic Scrolls". It may or may not be predictive of the
  Buffy/Dawn Season 7 and Dawn Season 8.

Wait and see is the best advice.

One interesting curiosity  is that in 'Our Story' all the Clare/Glory lookalikes are already
aware  of the existence of Clare, Dawn and the Pantheon. The implications are
significant since that is subtly  factored  into this Work.

It was obviously written after the tumultuous events described in "Our Story" and the intervening
Ava-Tess centric works.  These are generally complete as manuscripts in-hand, except
as noted in  the Works listing. None are 100%  on-line at this time.

Also note that Dawn is now referring to "Buffy/Dawn", whereas she has always previously
 simply used "Buffy".

Part 1-  Domestic Traniquiliity

"Take off your shoes if you girls are going to tromp around on the ceiling," Clare chided
them amicably.

She looked up from her book to the ceiling of the media/den at two of her four girls walking
on the tiles. "Else," Clare warned, "I'll have you girls crawling around on it and cleaning it
with toothbrushes. No magic."

Very quickly there were four thumps as the two god-girls bent up and peeled their
shoes off, de-spelling them to fall to the floor below. Both had long hair, one reddish blonde,
the other flame red.

It spilled below them, brushing Dawn as she wrote furiously in a thick college-ruled
spiral notebook. Dawn looked up at the two 8-year old god-girls, absently brushing their hair
from her face.

The girls obligingly stepped a bit closer to the wall. More over the back of the long
sofa Dawn sat on.

Gloriana reached down and scooped up her long hair. "We haven't figured out exactly how
to make our hair and clothes go up with our feet yet, " she explained. In fact, Dawn noted that
both were wearing shorts and fairly tight tank tops to solve one of their problems.

Clare suppressed a laugh.

Both her girls were impossibly precocious. Especially so since coming back from the
'Lost Roswell' trip with Ava, and Clare's two other daughters, the adopted Anunnaki
hybrid IGIGI teen supergirls.

That the god-girls had been allowed by Ava to kill for the first time seemed not to have
changed them. "It was a part of being a god," they'd said. "We only killed the ones that
tried to kill us. Besides, Auntie Ava said WE could."

Impeccable little girl logic, to be sure.

Of course they were lying about something, but Clare expected that.

After all,  they were far too much like their Mom.

[Ed- During the 'Lost Roswell'  (see "The Quest for Alex") trip the god-girls were allowed by Ava
to assist her and the teens by taking the basement rooms of the White Building at Los Alamos.
Once the god-girls  began killing with energy blasts, they casually exterminated all they encountered,
          as a matter of course.

Pretty much as their Mom, Clare,  had done in taking the starship that  was now the "Clare Declared".
Sort of a family tradition. Of course, Clare had spared the teens,  whom she bestowed on
(see "Inanna's Revenge") and adopted forthwith. And 30 or so of the command crew. Also the 14,000
year old Anunnaki god, Inanna (The ancient Sumerian-Anunnaki Queen of Heaven), whom she'd
'cleansed' of evil, de-aged and turned into her third adopted daughter in "Our Story".

Clare's overwhelming desire for preserving herself as a god, and her 'girls' had led to her successful
delimiting in time of Holly, the re-creatrix of the local universe in "Our Story". Shortly thereafter, Clare was
unanimously hailed and crowned as the Queen of the New Pantheon. They had no real choice.]

She glanced over her shoulder at the teens off near the one of the back corner U-shaped
sofas, under a large window overlooking the lake, the blue sky and both starships, on or
near the beach.

The sky here on Glory's World, as they'd called it for over 8 years, was always impossibly blue
and usually only spotted with white clouds. And it only rained at night several times a week.
All auto-magic, set in place no one knew how long ago.

The fabulously attractive, barely clothed,  Sukkhal god-Killer Twins were showing Clare's teen
girls how to spell the Scythian short swords they'd given the teens after returning from their
'Lost Roswell' trip with Ava and the god-girls.

"You gotta make it disappear when you stuff it down the back of your top," the Sukkhal Callie,
one of 'far too many' Clare/Glory dimensional clones, demonstrated. The slightly tapered 16-inch
blade flashed in her right hand just before it vanished when she swung it over and thrust it down
behind her head.

She retrieved it into deadly visibility with a motion of her arm.

"Let me see the spell again," Kat demanded, her long dark hair spilling across her maturing
face. She kissed the compliant Callie briefly to see the spell, took the sword, said something
and moved her arm at superspeed.

The sword vanished.

Kat held out both empty hands. "I did it," she laughed with triumph.

Clare delighted in her adopted teens as much as her own natural daughter and Inanna. If they
continued to progress on their own, they'd be god-bestowal candidates soon. Right now they
were not 100% god-DNA, as the god-girls and she herself was.

But all their god-DNA was from Clare via bestowal.

Angie, her other teen, had already gotten it first. "Like this," she tossed her long blonde hair,
steel flashed into view and disappeared behind her again. Both girls then pulled their swords
and laid them on the sofa.

At that, the lithe, about 5-3" Twins stood up with a disturbingly identical motion, and in a blindiing
blur, brought their wide 22" Roman gladius replicas into fearsome view.

The blonde Sukkhal Clare said," Our line has preferentially used the short Roman gladius
since about 500 B.C.," she commented. "Cause," she showed them, "The 2-inch wide
double edged blade cannot be but lethal thrust anywhere in the torso. It was", she added,
"designed to be used behind a full body shield and with body armor."

"But, unless one's invulnerable like...us...and you...it's not a good choice used alone. It's too
short."

The redheaded Sukkhal Callie smiled. "Properly used, the Roman gladius is perhaps the
most efficient edged weapon ever invented. Provided you have some measure of protection
from your opponent's attack."

She flourished her gladius in a flash of satiny stainless steel and presented it to the two teens.
"Turned wood handle and full tang. Modern stainless. Won't break when used at blur speed."

"Roman legionnaires," she continued, "Laughed at their opponents using slashing swords
against their shields, while they reached around and thrust their gladii into them."

Callie remarked, "We've tried the samurai short sword, the wakishazi, but it's a slashing
sword,  and not as lethal. The other fabled slashing sword, the samurai katana, and the
similar  tachi, is too long to be easily drawn by shorter girls like ourselves."

"The ninjato is better, being straight and shorter, but still sharpened on only one edge,
and again a bit too long for us," she slid the sword back behind her with a swift motion.

"We always come back to the gladius and its modern replicas. Our ancestors used to
forge their own, but we buy them from Atlanta, Georgia, where all us Glory/Clare/Callie
dimensional lookalikes were born... Atlanta Cutlery/Museum Replicas..." she pronounced
the slashes as 'slash'.

She looked at Clare across the room and smiled a secret smile.

Clare smiled back tolerantly.

She'd killed both of the supposedly invulnerable god-Killer girls back a few months
ago by her sheer unstoppable god-power, and then allowed Gloriana and Dawn to
resurrect them.

It was a lesson and more.

After Gloriana removed their Sukkhal energy dissipation link to Dawn as the Key.

[Ed- This was in "Our Story". The Twins wanted to kill the captive Inanna, but Clare had
other plans for her - as her fourth daughter. The twins were so grateful she
allowed them to be resurrected that they became devoted to her and her 4 girls.]

Both Twins then blurred and returned the smaller Scythian short swords to the teens.
Immediately, both teens blurred the swords to their backs, where they vanished from
sight.

The Twins clapped their hands in admiration.

"Very good," they said in unison. Until the "Lost Roswell" trip, the twins had been
unique and somewhat loners. Now they had the somewhat genetically similar
teens to train and tutor.

The enthusiasm of the teens, now practiced killers, was flattering.

[Ed-   Ava used the teen supergirls much as Clare and Glory had earlier used the Sukkhal Twins, as
efficient remorseless killers. In their maiden killings, Ava had teleported each into a following
military vehicle,  where they'd slain everyone in five seconds in a spray of blood. (Later, they'd
helped her  slay the MIB in the C-130 that had dropped the sub-kiloton nuke at them).

Ava may have adapted this intrusion tactic from the Ohio trip in "Our Story". Faith, Clare and Dawn
were fighting outside the Roswell artifacts hangar at Wright-Patterson AFB. While Faith killed
MIB on the roof near the shielded god-girls, Dawn, then a brand new god, teleported to the
nearest attacking gunship and killed everyone aboard before exiting. Whatever worked.

This was also much like Dawn &  Isabel-Amanda's tactic in destroying the last of the 3 Gallu
flying saucers earlier. When they exited, they fell to a park in northern Columbus and pretended
to be angels for the softball  team and spectators there.]

Clare turned her attention toward the other back corner.

Though she was trying to read a P.D. James novel, she wasn't having much success.
She didn't want to absorb it at god-speed, she wanted to enjoy it. Like in the old pre-god
days.

But she kept getting distracted.

Some in the room seemed to be watching the large screen TV at the far end of the room.

But her two god-girls, still walking on the ceiling barefooted, were diverting. They were
pestering Dawn again. From above her.

"Tell us a story, Auntie Dawnie," the somewhat bored god-girls urged.

"Only if you come down from the ceiling," Dawn stopped her speed writing.

The girls did an impressive flip and landed on the blue carpet barefooted.
"Tell us one that we can experience," Gloriana cajoled, using a word she'd
just learned.

She hugged Dawn.

Her sister, Inanna, coordinated their efforts on Dawn, by also hugging her from the
other side. "Yeah," she said, " like the one that you told last month."

Clare felt very domestic.

All 4 of her girls were here. Dawn, who is many ways was sort of her
part-sister, part-daughter by DNA,  was also near for a change. Her
many professional and personal activities kept her away weeks at a time
from Clare's mostly Glory's World faster time rate perspective.

[Ed- For Clare's long-hidden part in the making of Dawn from the Key, with Curupira,
Tess &  Glory Hall, see "Dark Deeds". The complete synopsis is separately online.]

Plus, Clare had the sleeping Tess.

Sleeping against Clare's left shoulder, while little Zan was in the care of both
Avas in the other back corner sofa, the L-shaped one. He'd unaccountably been
waking up at night, apparently confused by the change back from "Lost Roswell"
to the out of time & season sync here on Glory's World.

Or something else?

Tess was having trouble with her magic energy reservoirs as a result.

She'd barely had enough potential to be bestowal jumped to a god directly by Clare
before the Antar voyage. With little sleep, she was irritable, but persistent in trying
to take care of Zan alone.

Even now that she and little Zan were rooming with Clare in her massive palace suite.

Ava  ventured that Tess was a bit jealous about Zan taking so quickly to Ava and
apparently eager to nurse with baby Eve in the other Ava's arms. Which is why
Clare had simply grown concerned and bespelled Tess this morning into a deep
sleep.

It had taken quite a bit of magical deception, since Tess was awfully powerful
for a new god. But Clare was the master of deception.

Ergo, Tess slept the sleep of the not so innocent.

Ava, Ava and Lonnie were talking and laughing, sitting under the god-awful huge
picture or poster Clare's 4 girls had gotten somewhere in Sunnydale recently. It
was a curious combination of high tech and a towering robed, winged  angel.

They'd added the words "Our Mom" and were so proud of it that Clare had had
to let them hang it. She cringed every time she passed by it, which wasn't often,
since it was in the back corner.

But it was there.

From the sounds, Clare knew that Ava was nursing both Zan and her Eve, while Lonnie
was doing the same for her apparently feeding-synched twins, Fay and Kay.

Newly pregnant Ava from Sunnydale was probably holding Zan, though,
contemplating her own baby as it grew from the other Ava's egg, fertilized in
Glorieta, New Mexico by ...
