"Lucy in the Sky"... Addendum/Q & A

& 2003 gloryisagod.com/DS/G(G)
Q1- Was there an effort to obscure or to ignore/minimize Clare's starring in a pivotal lesbian role
by the media, by the film's own credits and the official descriptions of the film at festivals,
and in post-viewing blogs, including at Sundance, in London & at Canadian/U.S festivals?

And by 8 months of omission, Clare herself?

     Yes.
Based on our own examination of the endless hits.

To her creditand our enjoyment, Clare approved recently (as she is said to for
all additions to her site)  the addition of the D.E.B.S. links that, we, soon after
a massive Google search of thousands of hits, ended up with the actual video
of the film, which allowed Aeris  to make her screen captures. That we selected
       and enhanced.

For more on this see the More-1 section below.

Q2. Why does the specific lesbian action (and some of the dialog) between Lucy & Amy
       on the table seem familiar?

Because it is eerily like that in an similar, absolutely crucial to the redemption of
Glory, real dimensional event on a hammock described in  "Beyond the Portal".
A copyrighted PG-13 2001 work on our  web site. With some  portions of the bestowal-to-
supergirl-real-dimensional absolutely crucial event  described in one of the 4 parts
of the copyrighted PG-13 2001 work on our site "Three Days in Roswell".

There is nothing trivial or titillating about either event in the Narrative Works.
Without both events, there is no positive future for Glory or for the supergirls.

         FROM: Beyond the Portal
( a tiny portion of the hammock event)
             ...
Glory kissed her in return and they lay back on the hammock, hands clasped behind their heads.
"I think," she said dreamily, that we're making a bond that has never existed been. A goddess and
             a Slayer, now immortal.

"Yes", Buffy agreed. They both looked up at the last bright stars through the trees holding the hammock.
"Buffy", Glory asked, "If I said that I loved you, what would you say?"

"That I love you," she responded.
           "Let's say it together, forever."

            And they did.
            And so it begins.
            ...

Note the curious similarity that it's the less mature Glory who
says the "I love you".  Like the younger Amy to the more mature Lucy.

For more on this see the More-2 section below.

Q3. Is Lucy in the Sky a parody of Glory?

Yes, among other less important parodies.

Having Clare play  Lucy is a dead giveaway, as is the inclusion of Glory Season-5
phrases and such from Clare's Glory monologs. The name 'Lucy in the Sky'
(ignoring musical allusions) is also a god-like allusion.

The basis for identifying Lucy as Glory is manyfold, the obvious being that she
is played by Clare with lots of recognizable Gloryisms and Amy (who looks a lot
like Dawn) is played by Alex (who was Kit, Dawn's friend from Buffy 7-1 9/24/02
"Lessons"). Also the last episode that Clare played Glory in. Clare & Alex appear
to both have gone on a few weeks later and starred in this controversial, but
      successful, little film.

Which premiered in late Oct 2002.  It was shown at Sundance in Jan 2003.
Screen Gems has the feature film version in post-production as D.E.B.S (2004).
Clare is not in the feature length cast. Jordana Brewster plays the new Lucy.

For more on this see the More-3 section below.

Q4. Where are all the links to the D.E.B.S. sites, the director's shooting diary and the
       video itself?

None show Clare & Alex.

Reinforcing the conclusion we made in the  Addendum & Q&A to the "Lucy in the Sky
Narrative Gallery.

That conclusion was based on the many hundreds of Google hits we followed up on in tracking
down the D.E.B.S. video that Aeris was able to conjure up the Clare & Alex captures from.

The plot summary on IMDB.com, which was copied at most of the film festival/review blurbs we saw,
was occasionally  embellished with a sly phrase like "Sapphic ".

IMDB.COM Plot Summary for  D.E.B.S. (2003)

There is a secret test hidden with in the SAT. This test does not measure a persons aptitude at
reading writing or arithmetic. It measures a students ability to LIE, CHEAT, FIGHT and KILL.
Those who score well are recruited into a secret paramilitary academy. Some call them
seductresses. Some call them spies. Fools call them innocent. They call themselves D.E.B.S.
=============================================

It's like there are two different versions of D.E.B.S. being seen, reviewed and reported on.
The one we found & Aeris captured from, and another that has no Lucy & Amy tryst on the
table in it.

Seems hypocritical and deceptive to us.

This award-winning short film wasn't a winner solely on Tammy Lynn Michaels performing
acrobatics while shooting.

It was  Clare & Alex's tongue-in-cheek performance that undoubtedly did it.

Clare's D.E.B.S. wins outstanding narrative short film  7/20/03   at L.A.'s Outfest 2003, the world's
largest gay & lesbian film festival.  Amber Bensen's (Tara) film "Latter Days" wins first narrative film
award and a $5,000 cash prize at the same festival.

Clare is not cast as Lucy in the feature film version of  D.E.B.S. (2004).
 Which is now in post-production.

Word from the Editors (7/11/03):

This work is edited by those supporting DTLS and is an expansion/novelization of the film work of Angela
Robinson's comedy short D.E.B.S. (2003), including screen captures from the complete gallery by Aeris,
made from the on-line video. We have  selected & enhanced certain ones to embed in our narrative, as
in the other DTLS Narrative Works on-line.

It is being done this way to preserve the humor and cleverness that is lost by doing screen capture galleries
alone. Which show Lucy in the Sky/Lucinda Reynolds/Former D.E.B.S (Clare Kramer) in a lesbian tryst with
her supposed captive, Amy (Alex Breckenridge).

As we noted elsewhere, the lesbian content of this short film was not widely known, even after the
premiere last fall and the showing at Sundance Film Festival in Jan 2003. Where Screen Gems agreed
to produce a feature film called D.E.B.S. (2004), but without Clare in the Lucy role.

It was not made known until we followed the links from Clare's relatively new site film links in early July 2003 that
we noted & reported this:  that the original links (where the header image above came from, in Dec 2002/Jan 2003,
now included full information about the role of Clare as Lucy, plus the Angela Robinson shooting diary, where she
describes the Lucy & Amy sex scene in some detail.

The shooting took all day.

Some consider this role by Clare as controversial and daring.
Certainly, it represents a different role for her.
Which she carries off with skill, believability and humor.

And Clare is adorable as Lucy.

It does raise some obvious questions as to why all the reviews and blogs from attendees we found on-line, even
5+ months after Sundance, when the film had been in wide circulation in American,  Canadian and European art
houses & gay film festivals, consistently focus on the "Alias"-derived plot of a secret selection process hidden
in the SATs  (in "Alias" it was in an IQ test).

(In fact Clare is frequently left off the cast list in festival schedules on-line).

When that SAT plot is almost irrelevant. From the start it's all about Lucy & Amy. With the rescue attempt
from Lucy's weekly 'kidnappings' of her secret lover, Amy.

While Lucy and Amy have their tryst on the table. In a warehouse-like building. With a bit of a lover's spat
interlude over why sensitive Lucy cannot meet manipulative Amy's friends, the other D.E.B.S.

Meanwhile,  Max (Tammy Lynn Michaels) and two other D.E.B.S. bang on the metal door like Glory on the
warehouse door in "No Place Like Home". Hearing Amy's cries of ecstasy as signs of torture by Lucy.

More-2

And that is the Key...

Lucy in the Sky is a thinly disguised parody of Glory.  Clare's mannerisms, speech, emotions and even turn
of phrases contain variations of some of Clare's (Glory) monologs in Buffy Season-5. While Amy is a parody of
kidnapped Dawn in the later episodes of Buffy Season-5.

The casting of Clare as Lucy makes that obvious. Dark-haired Amy (Alex) even bears more than a passing
resemblance to the young Dawn (Michelle Trachtenberg). The casting of Alex as Amy is still another Buffy link.
lex played Dawn's friend Kit in "Lessons", the same 9/24/02 episode that Clare last played Glory in.
They reunited to star in D.E.B.S. together when it was filmed a few weeks later.

We present this novelization with more than a little interest as editors of the Narrative Works:
Portions of the Lucy & Amy lesbian tryst appear to be eerily similar to that of the Glory & Buffy's
lesbian tryst on the hammock from our 2001 on-line Narrative Work "Beyond the Portal".

Plus some from what is actually called the "tryst on the table" of Isabel & Curupira/Tess during a superpowers
bestowal gone wrong in one of the four parts of the 2001 on-line "Three Days in Roswell".  The other, less insane,
pregnant Glory (Glory Hall, hosted by lookalike Clare Hall, not Ben anymore), assists and saves the morphing
pair of Curupira/Tess.

Before battling the first unintended supergirl, Isabel.
In the process Clare Hall gains lower-rung godhood.
Males cannot achieve godhood, lacking ovaries (long story).

Both works, being DTLS narratives of events in  another similar dimension, are  Copyright © 2001 by
gloryisagod.com.  But we take a different view on that similarity than one might expect. We have  come
to assume many similarities across similar dimensions, often with a time lag. Since the other dimensions
run much faster timewise.

More-3

RELATED TOPIC...

The Narrative Works on-line have taken some heat because of their occasional PG-13 girl-girl content, which is always a reworking of the DTLS handwritten manuscripts. That frequently describes girl-girl & girl-guy events in the other dimension in graphic detail. We edit them back to PG-13 before putting them on-line.

Never is the sexual content less than a fair reporting of real events there. And it's always integral to the
intertwined events being narrated. Whether it be to resolve a mystery, or consummate or start a relationship.

In one case, ("Three Days in Sunnydale", 4 parts on-line 2001) we learn that  it was Buffy who sent the inexperienced Glory (oldest virgin ever, she admits) on weekly visits to Pat, pregnant Clare/Glory Hall's
"legal husband". It was a pre-marital agreement that Clare insisted on so Glo, her baby, would be born with
another last name. Later on Clare kicks him out of the Palace and divorces him for his part in a sex spell
scandal in  "Last Portal to Roswell".

Now that Clare has done an active lesbian acting role as Lucy,  we feel vindicated in our editing and
on-line publishing activities. We had avoided completing transcription of certain manuscripts with far more e
extensive (PG-13 to be) portions integral to the Narrative.

For concern that they would fuel rumors like those apparently generated in 2001, & later in  2002,
about Clare, by the on-line work "Dawn the Last Slayer".

In that Work, the new host of the less  insane, other dimensional Glory Hall, appears in Sunnydale some months
after the May 22 Glorificus tower debacle. That new host is the pregnant Clare Hall, destined  one day become
the Queen of the Pantheon in Glory's Palace. Long after she births the god-girl Glo, the new future god-body of
Glory Hall.

The triple conception story of Glory Hall /Clare "Hall"/ Pat in L.A. is touching but also one we stalled on
transcribing in "Our Story", as being too controversial to handle at the time (early 2002).

Another in particular is "Bye-Bye Roswell Really", which details the tantric bestowal and fantasy of Clare Hall,
devoted Mom of pre-teen god-girls Glo & In, and Queen of the Pantheon on Glory's faster time-rate world, with
fugitive Lost Roswell Tess, mother of baby Zan.

In the process Tess is bestowed to godhood (this via a bestowal kiss, that properly done on the mouth, usually
has the side effect of a full-body orgasm for both participants). We will revisit that transcription with more priority
now. We have 4,000 untranscribed manuscript pages backlog currently. Scattered among a dozen works,
most complete long ago.

This Tess (one of 5 dimensional look-a-likes) is so much like the clever, duplicitous, but dedicated & lovable
Clare Hall, that they almost instantly fall for one another.

Both have killed to get to their goals. And Clare takes the Palace starships (captured from the Anunnaki initially) to
Antar  (22 LY from earth) to conquer the system and place Tess on the throne she so coveted, when she left
Roswell, pregnant, in the Granilith.

Enough...

Next we interweave portions of the similar prior Narrative Works noted  with the actual dialog & images/descriptions
of action in the video of D.E.B.S (2003), to create a new Narrative that shows Clare at her best in this new role.
