Part 1: "The "Glory Always""

Glory watched the wraparound 3-D display as the globular starship vanished into a closing portal,
She had a nasty feeling of extreme annoyance.

Gesturing, she expended enormous god-energy at extreme distances to try to hold the
shrinking circular portal open on her own. It was barely visible as a light-ringed black disk
against a couple of  stars.

God-language sequences flowed from her mouth so rapidly it seemed to the others
she was singing a single high-pitched long note.

Then it was gone.
The portal had vanished as quickly as it had formed ahead of the fleeing starship.

"Too late!" Dawn said, her fingers dancing on the touch control depressions of her console.

"Only a huge burst of gamma rays as it closed," she interpreted the racing Anunnaki cuneiform
and  english symbols and numbers as they appeared on the displays against the black and star-strewn
portion of the outside that was the Milky Way.

Seen with sensors from a third of its diameter above, and inward closer to the bright barred nucleus
than the earth's sun. With the interior lighting turned almost down, Dawn noticed that Glory looked like
she was standing out in space among the stars.

The lights came up as Dawn wiggled a finger in one of the feedback depressions.

"Extremely large gamma ray burster emissions," Dawn observed. "Bigger than anything we've see her do
before. Could be a desperation portal jump beyond the ship's normal capability. Assisted by her own
god-powers?" She said the last as a question.

"Maybe," Glory was doubtful.

Was the last artificial-god DNA Anunnaki god like Inanna, former Queen of Heaven, capable of that extension
of her power? Only Glorificus herself had been able to do it so far. And she was the last original 100%
natural god-DNA god.

Ever since her dimensional clone Glory Hall had slipped out of her host, Clare, into the birthing Gloriana years ago
Palace elapsed time.

Dawn maneuvered the mile long roughly cylindrical "Glory Always" to where the portal had closed.
A point in space only.

Behind them a lone nearby globular cluster filled most of the other side of the sky in a fantastic
scene. Lighting the silvery ship on one side. Hundreds of thousands of stars in interlaced orbits,
confined to a spherical shape that was engulfed in a gradually dwindling halo of its innumerable
outer stars.

The Anunnaki cuneiform displayed a coordinate-based number for it. That was all.  Dawn didn't know
what the human designation was, but the thought of possibly searching planetary systems
inside the hive-like cluster didn't make her happy.

"Can't follow her," Dawn clasped her hands together in defeat, off the console." Too many alternate
destinations within her normal jump ranges. If this big jump was real, she's way beyond anything we
dare try blind. We could spend the next thousand years looking for this bitch-god of Sumer."

Glory stalked around in the big spaces between the control consoles scattered across the soft, semi-metallic
floor. Her heels were unable to make any appreciable noise as she really wanted them to.

"Pre-Sumer," she corrected as she passed behind Dawn.  "Before the last pole shift wiped the old Anunnaki-
generated high civilization mining and agricultural centers and cities , so Clare says."

Dawn sighed.

Leaning back in the soft seat.
Glory and Clare.
Clare and Glory.

What was really going on between the two?

Glory seemed to depend on the little blonde Palace god more and more for intricate activities now that
the brute force battles for the major Clan planets and fleets was apparently over. It was mostly cleanup
and local policing, now that so many of the primary Clans had surrendered to Glory's generous terms.

The tales of the first planetary systems taken by Glory were filled with gory descriptions of cratered planets,
blasted fleets and endless horrible deaths.

The Clans had seen what she and her first captured starships had done to the Anunnaki home world, Nibiru.
And their fleets. Fighting a starship with a god of Glory's caliber aboard was quickly deemed a form
of planetary suicide.

She could easily vaporize a starship on her own, though she rarely did so anymore.
Preferring to add them to her various fleets.

Or take the best as her own.

As she had the newest addition, which she'd renamed the "Glory Always". Deeding the much smaller
original starship, "Glory Triumphant" to Dawn, at Buffy's suggestion and Dawn's effusive delight.

Like any larger Anunnaki vessel, the "Always" had a homey interior.
Even the command center.

Aside from the hemispheric 3-D displays. It was made to look like a large circular room, perhaps a niche
temple room. Even the consoles were sheathed in finely finished rare woods. As were the walls up to the
displays. Except in several places there were mosaics and small woven tapestries of outdoor scenes.

The conformable seats' basic structure was of chased brass, with elaborate backs and bases that locked
them to to floor. One could easily fall asleep in them as they flowed to fit whoever was sitting in them.

In the center was the expected railing and the spiral ramp to the vast lower decks. They had yet to find an
Anunnaki starship with stairs. Non-slip ramps, and occasional short ladders to small storage areas,
were the rule.

The command and control deck or room, was a relatively small area in the upper portion of one end
of the ship. A large portion of the rear third was taken up by the truly massive power sources,
revealed-force drives and the simulated gravity projectors that pervaded the huge ship.

Most of the rest of the vessel was full of equipment, supplies and empty staff/crew rooms. Though it
was possible, as now, for even one person to fly the automated ship.

Suddenly Glory stopped pacing and said, "Launch the "Triumphant" and send it to the most probable
destinations, one by one," she sounded decisive, a fierce look on her face.

"Who?" Dawn looked around for possible crew. Fixing first on Buffy-Anne, or B-A, as they called her to
distinguish her from Buffy. She ,herself, had yet to take personal  command of the "Triumphant". Glory had had
them fly it into one of the many shop's holds with doors large enough to take the 800 foot long black triangle
starship inside.

She was eager to get aboard.

But Dawn looked around. The only ones in the control room available to girl Dawn's ship were B-A, Buffy &
Curupira. And Glory would never separate from Buffy for very long. Plus B-A was devoted to Glory, her adoptive
mother.

Though Curupira would do anything for Dawn, as she had for years.
But only two supergirls on an endless mission searching for the elusive Inanna?
Dawn would have no part of it.

"What if we brought Clare here?" Dawn suggested. Not wanting to be sent on a wild goose chase in the smaller
vessel. "She has some unusual abilities, so I've been told." Dawn was fishing and Glory knew it.

"She won't come without Gloriana, Curupira turned in her seat from the right of Dawn to look at the standing Glory.

[Ed- Based on this, it appears to be just prior to the events in "Our Story"]

"Ah, yes, Gloriana," Glory smiled. "She loves running around in these big ships. "Still", remember that first time when
Clare was crying over us slaughtering so ruthlessly in the early days?  To show what could be avoided by surrender."

[Ed- As detailed in "Our Story"]

"I've worked with Clare often," Curupira mused, her ball-on-a-rope hair bobbing. " She should be able to narrow
the options, I think. She believes that soon she can separate me and Tess back into our original selves. No more
morphing, " she said hopefully.

"Really," Glory was surprised.

Wondering what Clare had not told her. But she had been very secretive lately. Maybe she had more surprises
in store. Trying to show that it was possible for a god to become more powerful by doing impossible things -
things that did not involve planetary destruction or absorbing nuclear blasts, as Glory had done to progress to
supergod.

  [Ed- As detailed in "Comprehension"]

"Can she portal or teleport this far?" B-A asked, thinking they'd have to go pick her up.

"That girl can do pretty much what she wants," Glory said knowingly. "She's just quiet about it."
