Glory's (Gloriana) Reminder: All primary references are
to the real Dawn and her circle in the 'Buffy-is-real'
dimension. Do not confuse them with the similar, but
not identical, 'Buffy-is-TV' dimension, or the actors/
actresses portraying them.
This is about our 'Buffy-is-TV' dimension though.

Expanded cross post from WB. I thought the question was a good one.
Q. How will "Buffy" top the Glory saga ?
There were 12 episodes in which Clare Kramer/Glory personally
appeared. Glory was almost always a thread in the plot after
the Oct initial appearance and her impact, especially when
one on one with the precocious Dawn/Michelle Trachtenberg,
was devastating as the episodes piled up.
How many other series would even think of allowing
the hero (Buffy) to be beaten regularly, belittled and insulted
every time Glory spoke about her, and still show
Buffy's willingness to take on Glory one last time, seemingly
giving her life for a sister that she did not have
last season ?
Initially Glory was presented comically.
As time wore on the utter ruthlessness of her desperate
mission to save herself from dying in Ben began to unfold:
- She beat Spike senseless,
- brain-sucked Tara and others casually
- almost crucified Willow,
- killed hundreds of knights in less than 30 seconds,
- and was about to bleed Dawn to death.
Quite a writing and character development/
acting effort that will be hard to top.
Where do you go for foes after apparently defeating a god ?
ANSWER: Kill off your hero in a sympathetic manner
and somehow bring her back with a new perspective
and probably facing a new slayer-in-training in Dawn ?
The new challenges may not simply be more powerful foes,
but something else entirely. A new start.
