Foreword: This work
is a narrative work filling in the missing story of what happened to
the Lost Roswell Ava after she left Roswell, with Tess still in NYC. It
is Work-3
in a trilogy about how that Tess & Ava & Lonnie came to the Palace
the long way.
[The other so-called L.A./Sunnydale Ava reappeared in Part-3 of the on-line
"Comprehension".
She'd been working in an L.A. family restaurant as a chef.
[Until she discovered she was dying and came to Sunnydale looking for her
Tess
to try & heal her. Dawn & the at-that-time merged Curupira/Tess
(the Tess from
Glory Hall's dimension) took her to the freshly-minted by Glory/Glorificus
new god Buffy.
[Buffy not only healed her, but bestowed supergirl-hood on her. Ava was
Clare's long-time
Palace roommate and helped raise her baby, Gloriana (Little Glory). After
Clare
did her thing and adopted Inanna, Kat & Angie, Ava expanded her role
of teaching to
them also. Ava also always managed the Palace food & kitchen activities.
Clare bestowed her
to godhood in "Our Story".
The arrival of the other Ava from Glorieta, with her baby
Eve, was a happy event for both.]
Unlike many of the works, there is no real violence in this one. It's mostly
about
4 people and their shared months, then their separation and quest for their
very different destinies. Until they come together again almost two years
later
in Glory's palace.
It's a lyrical tale of how Tess and Alex helped this shy Ava at the Las
Cruces
university dorms, where she attended classes in her favorite interests,
botany & biology. We discover that Ava has a magic touch with plants.
And Ava wants to have a baby. To have someone who loves her unconditionally.
And won't walk away.
Tess gets drawn into this progeny & destiny thing also. She has a claim
& wants an heir to the
Antar throne. And Max can't give it to her, since both he and Michael are
known by
her to be sterile sibling drones. Decoys to protect the real Queen and
her Princess sister, Isabel &
Tess.
Tess intends to be there first, pregnant. With a plausible tale of how
Isabel wanted to
stay on earth. (This relationship and Royal status of the Roswell Roses
Tess & Isabel
was known to that Tess also. She revealed it to Isabel in the cemetery
in "Three Days in
Sunnydale". Online since 2001.)
Tess wants to start a dynasty on Antar.
In spite of Ava & Lonnie later telling her so much is lies they can't
keep track of the truth.
Both mindlink with Lonnie, who has struggled to survive after Tess unknowingly
teleported
her from NYC to a winter Siberian forest. (This original revelation was
in the summer 2001
on-line "Three Days in Roswell".
That work also notes that Rath is long dead in the airless
dust on the moon. Where Tess also unknowingly sent him during the incident
in NYC).
When Lonnie finally manages to get back to New Mexico, she and Alex hit
it off
right away. To him she's an experienced and actually-interested-in-him-version
of Isabel.
Lonnie has had enough of the Antar game of lies and death. She agrees to
help Ava
and Tess get pregnant by Alex. All three get pregnant the same day by Alex
in a long,
humorous and touching narrative. And not with a turkey baster either.
Tess goes on to mindwarp most of Roswell into believing Max is a parent
to be.
And believing that he actually got Tess naked in the observatory.
This was a multi-level mindwarp within a mindwarp. One, to be exposed
to make
the rest decline to leave earth. The other, to continue indefinitely. Until
Clare's
meddling little god-girls, having befriended Maria & Liz in the park,
decide to undo
what they see as a crippling mindwarp on them by Tess.
Just like the Roswell Rose Tess, this Tess used a mindwarped Liz
as the surrogate
for her in the observatory. (It was this mind-bending revelation in
the first part of
"Bye-Bye Roswell, Really"
that caused Liz to go berserk and take Maria to go to kill
Tess and little Zan in the Glory Hall apartments, across the park
from where they
had wound up, following her marriage to Max).
(Of course, Liz ran into the double buzz saw of Clare's invulnerable
adopted hybrid teen
supergirls when she mistook the petite blonde Angie for Tess and opened
fire with the
pistol her father had given her before she left Roswell. The two teen supergirls
left Liz
with every bone in her battered body broken. An absolutely livid returning
Tess calmly
executed Liz with her own pistol. She spared Maria, but also shot and wounded
her.)
(Then Tess walked across the park and did the same to Michael and Max.
Fatally.
Ending the Liz-Tess debate with multiple closure.)
Alex and Lonnie & Ava flee to northern New Mexico to a place he's seen
on vacation before.
Most of the rest of the story is about their tranquil, year and a half
life. Lonnie's marriage
to Alex. Their uneventful pregnancies, the birth of their 3 babies
(Eve, Fay & Kay). And
Ava's magic garden where anything grows like in the garden of Eden.
Ava's tending this garden, with Eve in a baby sling, when the other Ava
& Clare's 4 girls, with
Jim Valenti, come up the dirt road in the stolen car. After decimating
the White Building in
somewhat nearby Los Alamos.
Like Ava told the arriving Ava. "We're poor. But happy." She was
astonished at the opulence
and lavishness available to them when they got to Glory's Palace. And the
attention they received
immediately. Her and Lonnie's lives were quickly changed for the better
among the numerous
appreciative Palace supergirls & gods.
The rest of the story is continued in the end of "The
Quest for Alex" . Which rejoins
"Bye-Bye-Roswell, Really"
in the last part of that Work. For the dock party where Tess
sits on a throne (from the Palace) for the first time.
And the first babies since Clare's girl become a part of Palace life.

Ava pushed her jacket's draw-string hood back a bit and moved further
out and closer to the street.
She was still afraid and had to get out of Roswell.
Quickly.
She'd helped Liz, with Isabel's powers and her own linked, to warn Max
about Rath's
likely plans.
She was streetwise enough, in spite of the protection her big sister
Lonnie always
provided. But she knew if she stayed here the warfare would likely
include her soon enough.
As it was she had hated to see Tess leave for NYC with Lonnie &
Rath & Max. She suspected
that Tess was a likely target. Rath & Max had always lusted after
Ava personally, but Lonnie
always instantly offered herself as a more experienced and endowed
substitute.
A car stopped. The window slid down electrically a bit.
It was one of the locals...one of the Roswell aliens' friends, in on
the secrets.
Ava searched for a name..."Alex?" she guessed.
"Who else?" he responded thru the partially open window as he
leaned over and opened
the passenger door. "You're the Tess from NYC...Eva?"
"Ava", " she said distinctly. There's a difference. Though it's a pretty
name too."
She hesitated for only a second and slid into the warmer interior.
"Can you drive me anywhere
out of Roswell? I think I could be in trouble if I stay here."

Her facial expression told Alex she was really afraid.
"I'm going down to Las Cruces to look at their computer setup and facilities,"
he replied
with a smile. He seemed a bit shy also. "I could take you to the university.
I've reserved a
dorm room, well more a micro-suite, for the rest of the semester."
He paused before the next statement.
"You could stay there for awhile, if you want..."
"...With you?" Ava looked fearful again and pulled back against the door.
"Nah", he exclaimed," I'll be in the computer lab most of the time.
I don't bite nor do I
molest pretty girls." He got a smile and a blush out of that. If Ava
didn't hide all her
natural beauty under the goth rings, makeup and hair color she'd be
as devastating as
Tess was.
Though he still got faint when Isabel was around.
"Besides he consoled her, "You probably got powers like Tess is said
to have, so I might
ought to be the one worrying." That got a big smile out of the more
relaxed Ava.
"I don't bite either," Ava was beginning to like this non-threatening
guy. "But I do
have similar powers, but I'm not that good yet. Tess is much more experienced
because of
Nasedo."
"Maybe you could get a job on campus..and take a class or two, even
if only to audit
one, " Alex was trying to find a safe refuge for this shy girl.
