Gloryisagod.com's Clare Kramer Biography:
Clare attended Delaware Hayes High School in Delaware,
Ohio, the birthplace of President Rutherford B. Hayes.
Clare was on the staff of the school newspaper 'The
Talisman'-- The Talisman
She has stated in interviews that she was essentially a nerd
in high school. She said that she contemplated ballet until
she discovered that ballerinas are on a constant salad diet
and she prefers "steak, steak, steak" and anything with
cheese.
One of her early jobs was as the "Wendy's" girl, which she
inherited as runner-up when the winner turned up pregnant
and had to forfeit her pigtails. The job mostly involved
appearances and tossing toys to kids, plus having to milk a
cow on occasion. She says when she got annoyed, she'd
pick out a kid in the crowd and try to hit them with a well-thrown
toy.
After graduation she got a degree in acting from New York
University. In interviews she notes that she worked until
1:00 AM at a yogurt shop to help pay her way through the
university and can't stand yogurt now.
She was in some minor roles by 1997, then the the successful
Kirsten Dunst cheerleader movie "Bring it On", Glory role and
the
indie "Ropewalk" (being released in 2001/2 as "Hangingingaround").

Clare carries her two "end of the alphabet" cats around
with her to away shooting locations. She also says she's
shy, particularly around new people, (but not, apparently,
when she has throw-me toys in her hands).
She also has a younger sister.
She said in another interview that she pals around
Los Angeles with several of the other 'girls' from
"Bring It On", including her friend Eliza Dushku,
Buffy's slayer-nemesis in the early "Buffy" seasons.
Clare & Eliza Dushku - "Bring It
On"wrap party (1999, the year before Glory Role)
Clare maintains a journal of her acting activities
to improve consistency. She used to run for exercise
and, since the Buffy guest starring role, with her having
to fight Buffy's stunt double, she instead boxes several
times a week with a trainer.
One inside story she tells is about the action and fighting
training with stunt doubles and coordinators on the Buffy
set. She and Buffy never fought one another at the same
time. Each fights one of the other's stunt doubles for
safety reasons. One time at 2 AM, after a whole day of
shooting, Clare's boxing-developed left hook suddenly
connected and she decked a double, blackening both eyes
and putting a big welt on her forehead. She said that they
called the unlucky double 'The Unicorn' for many days.
She said that there really were live snakes on the Buffy
set when Glory conjured up "snakey-wakey" to look for
the Key. A huge python escaped and disappeared into the
set walls. She and Sarah Gellar stood on chairs while the
crew disassembled the set and found the python. Clare said
that she handled snakes then, and was later photographed
with one wrapped around her for FHM magazine. Small
rodents like hamsters do bother her though, she noted.
Clare has stated that she was given full freedom to
interpret her Glory character emotionally, since
Glory's backstory was purposely kept so sketchy for
so many episodes. Even she had no idea where the plot
was going, except that she and Charlie Weber were hired
as a pair after interviews, before finding out that they
shared a body.
The 2nd movie she and the ensemble cast shot in 2000/2001, during her
Glory role on Buffy, has a 2001 pre-release web site and the
release name of the movie has been changed to Hanginaround.
After a spring and summer of doing magazine shoots
and interviews and a 3rd movie, Clare has completed a
4th movie. (Wrap Party 10/10/01). Then she was in London as a
guest star for the
StarFury Bad Girls Convention 11/9-11/01.
(See two interviews links below)
In March 2002, Clare was the guest star as Melissa
in the UPN pilot series
episode # 2 of "The Random Years".
She starts a U.K. SciFi Tour May 3-13, 2002,
beginning with her second StarFury
convention.

Personal quotes:
If you can't do the business side, you can't do your art.
People have all these misconceptions -- that it's all
about connections or luck or looks. No, you have to
make it happen for yourself. The window of opportunity
isn't very big; you have to get through it before it
closes.
Unlike life, acting requires no social conditioning.
I feel free to let my character do whatever she has
to do. Besides, I never think of them as negative,
they all have their own worthwhile motives.
